The KP Planets endpoint computes detailed planetary data for a given birth chart using the Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) astrology system — a highly precise predictive astrology methodology developed by K.S. Krishnamurti. KP astrology is built upon the Placidus house system and the sub-lord theory, offering a more granular and accurate approach to astrological prediction compared to traditional systems.

What This API Does

This endpoint calculates the positions and KP-specific attributes of all major planets at the time of birth. It applies the KP methodology, which divides each zodiac sign into finer sub-divisions based on Nakshatras (lunar mansions/stars) and their sub-lords, enabling highly precise astrological analysis.

The calculation is driven by the Krishnamurti Ayanamsha — the sidereal offset used specifically in KP astrology — ensuring results are aligned with KP standards.

What Data It Returns

For each planet in the birth chart, the API returns:

• Sign (Rashi) — The zodiac sign the planet occupies
• Nakshatra (Star) — The lunar mansion the planet is positioned in
• Sub-Lord — The sub-division lord within the Nakshatra, central to KP predictions
• Sub-Sub-Lord — A further subdivision for even more precise analysis
• House Position — The Placidus house the planet occupies
• Retrograde Status — Whether the planet is in retrograde motion
• KP Significators — The houses signified by each planet based on KP rules, used for event timing and prediction
