SEARCH ASTRO INSIGHT API DOCS
The Extended Planetary Positions Sunrise API provides Panchang related calculations and insights based on Vedic Astrology principles. This endpoint is designed for astrology applications, report generation systems, horoscope platforms, and developer integrations requiring structured JSON responses and reliable REST API access.
This endpoint returns the full extended set of Vedic astrological data for all major planets, calculated specifically for the moment of sunrise on the given date and at the given geographic location. It is the most comprehensive single-call planetary endpoint in the Panchang API, combining sunrise-anchored timing with the richest available per-planet metadata — making it the definitive source for daily Vedic chart and Panchang generation.
For each planet — Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, and the Ascendant (Lagna) — the response provides the complete extended dataset anchored to the sunrise moment, including:
Degree positions — absolute ecliptic degree (full_degree) and degree within the current zodiac sign (norm_degree), in both decimal and formatted (degrees:minutes:seconds) notation.
Zodiac sign placement — the sign the planet occupies at sunrise, with Western and Hindu/Vedic names, ruling lord, and associated element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water).
House placement — the astrological house (1–12) the planet occupies at the sunrise moment, calculated relative to the sunrise Ascendant.
Nakshatra (lunar mansion) — the nakshatra the planet is placed in at sunrise, along with its presiding deity, ruling planet (lord), and pada (quarter, 1–4).
Planetary motion — current speed and retrograde status at the time of sunrise.
Avastha (planetary state) — classical Vedic dignity indicators: Bal Avastha (age-based state: Bala, Kumar, Yuva, Vridha, Mrit) and Jagrat Avastha (consciousness state: Jagrat, Swapan, Supust).
Extended attributes — the full suite of additional classical Vedic metadata beyond the standard response, which may include dignity/debility status, planetary relationships, shadbala components, or other expanded interpretive data depending on the API version.
Complete daily Panchang generation — this endpoint provides everything needed to produce a full traditional Hindu Panchang for any day and location in a single call, with all extended planetary attributes included.
Sunrise-based Vedic chart casting — generating a Jyotish chart where the Ascendant and house cusps are set to the sunrise moment, a common practice in daily horoscopy and Panchang-based astrology.
Muhurta and auspicious timing — assessing the extended strength, dignity, and condition of all planets at sunrise to determine favorable windows for important activities throughout the day.
Astrological interpretation engines — powering automated or AI-assisted systems that require the richest possible per-planet dataset anchored to the day's sunrise for generating daily forecasts or insights.
Astrology apps and dashboards — serving as the primary data feed for feature-rich Jyotish applications that display comprehensive daily planet cards with full classical Vedic attributes.
Research and data analysis — providing a structured, machine-readable extended sunrise planetary dataset for statistical or algorithmic research into Vedic astrology patterns across dates and locations.
Sunrise-anchored calculation — all planetary positions and derived attributes are computed for the exact moment of sunrise, determined from the supplied date, timezone, and geographic coordinates. This is distinct from calculating positions for an arbitrary time of day.
Extended Vedic metadata per planet — the most data-rich planetary response in the API; each planet entry includes the full classical Vedic attribute set on top of standard positional data.
Precise location and time input — supports any worldwide location via latitude, longitude, and timezone, with date and time inputs used to determine the correct sunrise moment.
Ayanamsha support — the sidereal coordinate system is controlled via the X-Ayanamsha header, allowing selection of different ayanamsha systems (e.g., Lahiri, Raman, KP) to match the practitioner's tradition.
Ascendant (Lagna) included — the sunrise rising sign is returned as part of the planet list, enabling immediate house-system construction without a separate API call.
Retrograde detection — each planet entry explicitly flags retrograde status, a critical factor in Vedic interpretation.
Timezone-aware calculation — the tzone parameter ensures the sunrise moment is computed correctly for the local time zone anywhere in the world.
Localization-ready — the Accept-Language header allows the API to return names and labels in the requested language, supporting multilingual Vedic astrology interfaces.
🌐 API responses available in 3 regional languages. Pass Accept-Languageparameter in request header with language code.
