SEARCH ASTRO INSIGHT API DOCS
The Advanced Panchang Sunrise API provides Panchang related calculations and insights based on Vedic Astrology principles. This endpoint is designed for astrology applications, report generation systems, horoscope platforms, and developer integrations requiring structured JSON responses and reliable REST API access.
The Advanced Panchang Sunrise API computes precise, astronomically-grounded Panchang (Hindu almanac) data anchored to the sunrise moment for a given date and geographic location. By tying all calculations to the exact local sunrise rather than a fixed clock time, this endpoint delivers the most traditionally accurate form of the Panchang used in Vedic astrology, religious observance, and auspicious timing.
This endpoint calculates the full set of Panchang elements — the five limbs of the Hindu almanac — for a specified date, time, and location, with all values computed relative to the sunrise of that day at the provided coordinates. The Ayanamsha (sidereal zodiac correction system) used for the calculations is configurable via a request header, allowing compatibility with multiple Vedic astrology traditions.
The response provides a comprehensive set of Panchang attributes, typically including:
Tithi — Lunar day, its name, start and end times, and the presiding deity
Nakshatra — The lunar mansion (star constellation) the Moon occupies, with duration and ruling deity
Yoga — The auspiciousness index derived from the combined longitudes of the Sun and Moon
Karana — The half-tithi unit, with name and timing
Vara — The weekday with its planetary ruler
Sunrise & Sunset times — Precise local sunrise and sunset for the given coordinates and date
Moonrise & Moonset times — Lunar rise and set timings
Rahu Kalam, Gulika Kalam, Yamaganda — Inauspicious time periods to be avoided for important activities
Abhijit Muhurta — The most auspicious time window of the day
Chandra Rashi — The zodiac sign occupied by the Moon
Sun's Rashi and Nakshatra — Solar position details
Ayanamsha value — The sidereal correction applied, as per the selected system
Religious and ritual scheduling — Determining auspicious and inauspicious windows for pujas, ceremonies, and observances based on sunrise-anchored Panchang
Vedic astrology applications — Powering horoscope and muhurta (electional astrology) features that require sunrise-relative Panchang data
Festival and calendar apps — Generating accurate daily almanac entries for Hindu calendar applications
Muhurta selection — Identifying the best time windows (e.g., Abhijit Muhurta) and periods to avoid (e.g., Rahu Kalam) for important life events such as travel, business, or weddings
Astrology APIs and platforms — Serving as a backend data source for consumer-facing astrology products that need location-aware, tradition-specific Panchang
Sunrise-anchored calculations — All Panchang elements are computed relative to the actual astronomical sunrise at the specified latitude and longitude, ensuring traditional accuracy rather than relying on a fixed midnight or noon epoch
Location-aware — Accepts precise geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) along with timezone offset, making results specific to any location worldwide
Configurable Ayanamsha — The X-Ayanamsha header allows selection of the sidereal correction system (e.g., Lahiri, Raman, KP), enabling compatibility with different Vedic astrology schools
Multi-language support — The Accept-Language header allows responses to be returned in the preferred language, supporting regional and vernacular use cases
Full date and time input — Accepts day, month, year, hour, minute, second, and timezone offset, enabling calculations for any historical, current, or future date
🌐 API responses available in 3 regional languages. Pass Accept-Languageparameter in request header with language code.
